I am senior neurosurgeon with a special interest in complex spinal surgery.
What is your role in FICEBO?
Having just recently joined FICEBO, I’m hoping to soon start an RCT study on a neurosurgical cervical patient population.
Favorite part of your job?
As a surgeon I naturally enjoy doing operations, especially challenging and complex cases. However, in the course of normal everyday work I think about how to developing our field and so the possibility of doing science as part of my daily work makes my career more variable and enjoyable.
Who/What inspires you?
My beautiful and beloved wife Maria is my inspiration. She is also a doctor, a docent in dermatology. We have wonderful and intricate discussions about different scientific ideas and she challenges and encourages me to develop my ideas.

Your favorite book and why?
Mika Waltari´s book Sinuhe beautifully brings ancient Egypt alive and plunges the reader into what it would have been like to live in that time.
