Finnish Degenerative Meniscal Lesion Study
Two procedures, the same result. A study compared a common surgical repair to the meniscus and a pretend (fake) surgery. A year later, most patients in both groups reported that their knees felt better and the vast majority said they would choose the same procedure again, even if it was fake.
Finnish Shoulder Impingement Arthroscopy Controlled Trial
FIDELITY’s twin sister, a placebo-surgery controlled trial on arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASD), the most commonly performed surgical intervention for shoulder pain. Although we managed to complete the recruitment already last year (2016), we are still working on the publications… But stay tuned, it should not be long anymore…
The Femoroacetabular Impingement Randomised Controlled Trial
A collaboration with McMaster University in Canada. A multi-centre randomized controlled trial comparing arthroscopic osteochondroplasty and lavage with arthroscopic lavage alone on patient important outcomes and quality of life in the treatment of young adult (18–50) Femoroacetabular impingement.
